Head of School

Nicholas (Nick) Martin serves as Head of School at Bethel Academy. Furthermore, he ministers as Pastor of New Douglas Baptist Church. Prior to joining Bethel Academy, he served on the teaching faculty of a Christian School in St. Louis, Missouri and has served churches in Missouri and Illinois. He brings over a decade of experience in church ministry, Christian Education, and nonprofit administration.

Nick is a graduate of Missouri Baptist University (BA), Lindenwood University (MA), and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv) with additional studies in Church History at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. During his undergraduate work, he spent summers in East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia) working with local pastors and missionaries.

Nick and his wife, Brittany, live near Highland, Illinois with their two children. They are adoptive parents and are involved in advocating for foster children on a local and state level. Recently, Nick completed an appointment on the Illinois Children and Family Services Advisory Council and served as Board Chair of a local nonprofit counseling ministry.
